Here is the recipe for Grampa's Syrup.
This goes best on Grama's French toast but works on pancakes and everything else too.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon maple flavoring
Mix all ingredients together in small sauce pan and bring to boil. Serve it warm (it will be thin). You can make it thicker if you wish but reducing the amount of water or adding a little corn starch (mix corn starch with water before stirring into syrup).

When it cools put it in the refrigerator (it will keep for a few days). It will start to turn back to sugar in the frig. Just heat it back up and it will be fine.
I hope you enjoy Grampa's Syrup. Please comment on it in my guestbook if you give it a try.
