KKK

KKK

The Methodist church at Willow Pond, was a pretty white building.
We were having a revival. Every body in the community always come.
The song leader was leading singing one night

In marched some KKK in their hoods and white sheets around them.
They marched up the aisle and gave a little package of money, to the preacher.
It made some mad.
Will Blocker pulled the hood off of one of the men. There liked to have been trouble.

Uncle Charlie, Mamas brother said, that our Uncle John Oaks was in the bunch. He
was Dad's sister, Aunt Sudie's husband. We had suspected it. Most of the men lived
in town, not in the country around us. We didn't think much of the KKK.
